1. Scope and hierarchy
These terms apply to all services provided by Mordancyedge B.V. (Mordancyedge), Wibautstraat 137, 1091 GL Amsterdam, KvK 87317371, VAT NL800778005B01. They cover recording, mixing, mastering, podcast and demo sessions and related work as described on services and on service pages including vocal recording, mixing, mastering, podcast recording and demo recording.
The contract consists of: (1) your accepted quote or order confirmation, (2) these terms and (3) where relevant our privacy policy and data processing agreement. If anything conflicts, the quote prevails except where mandatory law or the DPA for third-party data says otherwise.
Accepting a quote or paying a deposit means you agree to these terms. Browsing https://mordancyedge.digital or sending a contact message alone does not create a contract.
2. Definitions
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Client | The natural person or legal entity accepting a quote. |
| Consumer | A natural person acting for purposes outside their trade, business or profession. |
| Business client | A client acting in a professional capacity, for example a label, producer or corporate podcaster. |
| Quote | Written offer describing the service, date, price including and excluding VAT, deposit and any special terms. |
| Session | The reserved studio time slot or agreed remote work. |
| Business day | Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays in the Netherlands. |
| Deposit | 30% of the agreed amount including VAT, due when the booking is confirmed. |
3. Quotes, booking and confirmation
After a request via contact, 020 244 9183 or [email protected] we usually send a quote within 2 business days. A quote stays valid for thirty days unless another period is stated. A time slot is firmly booked once you accept the quote in writing and we receive the deposit.
For distance contracts we confirm the booking on a durable medium (email) with the essential quote details. We may decline a request when performance is not reasonably possible, for example unsafe situations, third-party rights issues or missing technical requirements; we will explain why.
4. Prices, VAT and published rates
Website prices are indicative and include 21% VAT unless a net amount is explicitly shown for a business client. The binding amount is on your accepted quote. Examples of published rates: Vocal recording from €98 per hour, Mixing from €185 per track, Mastering from €78 per track, Podcast recording from €295 per episode up to 60 minutes, and Demo recording from €225 per song. Extra time or add-ons are charged only with your written approval.
Changes in VAT or other statutory charges may adjust amounts not yet invoiced, as the law allows.
5. Deposit, invoicing and payment
The deposit is 30% of the total including VAT and is offset against the final invoice. Payment is by bank transfer; card payment in the studio is available when stated on the quote. Consumers pay the balance on the session day or when remote work is delivered unless agreed otherwise.
Business clients pay within 14 days of the invoice date unless the quote sets another term. Late payment may incur statutory commercial interest and reasonable collection costs where permitted.
Until full payment we may withhold final masters or other deliverables; working files are kept as described in Article 9.
6. Reschedule and cancellation by the client
| Timing | Effect |
|---|---|
| More than 7 days before the session | Free reschedule or cancellation; on cancellation we refund the deposit within 14 days. |
| Between 7 days and 72 hours before start | The deposit is credited once toward a new date within 3 months; if no new date is set, the deposit is forfeited. |
| Less than 72 hours before start or no-show | The deposit remains due unless force majeure applies or we reallocate the slot without loss. |
Send requests in writing to [email protected] or contact; we confirm phone notices by email. Arriving late shortens the session without extension if the next slot is booked. These rules do not limit statutory withdrawal rights where they apply.
7. Withdrawal right for consumers
If you are a consumer and conclude a distance contract (email, phone or contact form), you generally have 14 days to withdraw without giving reasons, unless a statutory exception applies.
If you explicitly ask us to start before the end of that period, you owe a proportionate amount for work already performed if you withdraw after we have begun. For services fully performed at your request before the period ends, withdrawal may no longer apply to that part where the law allows. Custom or heavily personalised music production may fall outside the withdrawal right.
Notify withdrawal clearly via [email protected] or post to Wibautstraat 137, 1091 GL Amsterdam. We refund payments within 14 days using the same payment method unless you agree otherwise.
8. Cancellation or changes by Mordancyedge
If we must cancel because of equipment failure, essential staff illness or similar circumstances within our control, we inform you as soon as possible and offer another date. If that does not work, we refund amounts paid for services not performed within 14 days. We do not replace a named engineer without discussion when they appear on the quote.
9. Performance, house rules and safety
Regular studio hours: Monday–Friday 10:00–19:00, Saturday 11:00–17:00. Closed on Sunday. Sessions outside these hours on request.; other times only by written agreement. The live room fits up to 6 musicians at once; there are 2 iso booths across 3 rooms totalling about 145 m².
Participants under 16 may attend only with written consent from a parent or guardian who concludes the contract and stays present throughout. No smoking or vaping in the studio. Follow engineer instructions and treat gear with care. We may stop a session for dangerous behaviour; fees remain due for time already used. Damage through intent or gross negligence to studio property may be charged to you. Equipment you bring remains your responsibility.
We monitor at moderate levels and provide hearing protection. Practical tips appear in our guides and FAQ.
10. Files, delivery and archiving
Unless the quote says otherwise, we deliver common formats such as 24-bit WAV via secure download. Turnaround for remote mix or mastering starts when we receive complete, usable source files.
We retain session and project files for 24 months after the last relevant activity, then delete them unless legal retention or a written extension applies. You are responsible for keeping copies within that window. Longer storage can be agreed for a fee.
Delivery guidelines: deliver stems for mixing in the guides section.
11. Revisions and feedback
Mixing and mastering include 2 revision rounds as described on the relevant service page unless the quote differs. One round means a single bundled list of comments processed together. Extra rounds or a new artistic direction after approval are quoted separately, for example an extra mastering revision at €35.
12. Intellectual property and client warranties
Music, lyrics, samples and other materials you supply remain yours or the rights holders’. You warrant that you hold the necessary rights and licences and indemnify Mordancyedge against third-party claims.
Phonogram rights on recordings you commission and pay for generally vest with you as client; we do not claim co-ownership of your works. Bespoke composition requires a separate written agreement on copyright and fees.
We do not use your recordings to train AI systems and do not create voice clones without specific written consent from the person concerned. We mention you as a reference on our site only with your written approval.
13. Liability
We perform services with the care expected of a professional recording studio. Artistic taste and commercial success are outside our control and are not guaranteed. Our liability is limited to direct loss caused by an attributable breach, except where mandatory law provides otherwise or in cases of intent or wilful recklessness.
For business clients, total liability per assignment is capped at the invoice amount including VAT except for intent or wilful recklessness; indirect loss such as lost revenue is excluded where allowed.
Further limits on online information appear in our disclaimer.
14. Force majeure
Neither party is liable for failure caused by force majeure such as prolonged power cuts, pandemics, government measures, serious supplier outages or other events beyond reasonable control. The affected party informs the other and tries to resume performance. If delay exceeds 28 days, either party may terminate; we refund prepaid amounts for unperformed services.
15. Personal data
We process personal data under our privacy policy. If you supply guest, narrator or musician data as a business client, our data processing agreement applies where needed. The contact form uses FormSubmit; see Article 1 and the privacy policy on transfers outside the EEA.
16. Complaints and disputes
Report service issues in writing via [email protected] within a reasonable time, describing the problem and quote reference. We respond within 2×5 business days with a substantive reply or proposed solution.
If we cannot resolve the matter, consumers may bring proceedings before a competent court or, where applicable, use the EU ODR platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We do not participate in a sector dispute board unless we later confirm that in writing.
17. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms and contracts with Mordancyedge B.V. are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Consumers in the EEA retain the benefit of mandatory rules of their country of residence.
Disputes are submitted in first instance to the competent court in the Amsterdam district unless mandatory law designates another court for consumers. For business clients the courts of Amsterdam have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory law.
18. Changes and language
We may amend these terms; the version dated 14 October 2026 applies to new orders after publication. Ongoing contracts remain on the version accepted unless change is legally required or you agree.
If translations differ, the Dutch text prevails. Questions: contact, 020 244 9183 or [email protected]. See also legal notice.
